Cowley County to conduct drive-thru Q-Box distribution Bret Smith Memorial Community Care Drive
WINFIELD, Kan. (July 7, 2021) – The Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF), as part of the CARES Act, provided Cowley County with the opportunity to purchase and distribute Q-Boxes to those adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. While numbers are trending in a positive direction and the infection rate is low, there are still individuals and families in our County that are still feeling the impacts.
To combat that need, Cowley County will be offering Q-Boxes to those in need on a drive-thru basis behind the Cowley County North Annex in the 300 block of east 8th Avenue in Winfield. Recipients of the boxes will need to approach the distribution point from the east, pull into the driveway area and a County employee will load for you. The only requirement is that you are a Cowley County resident and have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The drive-thru distribution dates will be on Friday, July 9 and Saturday, July 17 from 8:00am-11:00am.
Q-Boxes provide basic items such as food and commodities. For a list of items in the box, go to the CRF website at: https://www.cowleycounty.org/departments/Administration/CRF .
"It is our goal to distribute these boxes and to get them into the hands of families that may still need some assistance. The boxes were packed by volunteers and we’d like to see them have a positive impact on our community as we continue to recover from the pandemic," states Lucas Goff, Cowley County Administrator.
