What is Downtown Doc Walks?
Downtown Doc Walks is a free,
community walking program led by a local healthcare provider. Meet-ups take
place monthly with a goal to walk one mile. Each month is sponsored by a
different Winfield Chamber of Commerce business. Walks start at the Chamber
office with a stop at the local business. A health talk by the walk leader
kicks off the event which lasts about an hour. Our goal is 25-40 participants
at each event.
When are Downtown Doc Walks?
Group walks will occur on the
first Thursday of each month at 4 pm starting at the Chamber office. Community
members of all ages are welcome. In the event of inclement weather, walks will
be held inside at the Winfield Recreation Commission.
How can my business get
involved?
Chamber members can sponsor a
walk, encourage employees to participate in a walk, or both!
There is no fee to sponsor;
however, the monthly sponsor commits to (1) providing a healthy drink &
snack and (2) helping co-market the event through existing channels such as
social media. A flag will be placed outside the sponsor's location on the day
of the event, identifying the business as a stop on the walk. Participants will
spend 5-10 minutes at the sponsor's location before returning to the Chamber.
In the spirit of promoting a healthy work environment, we ask you to support your staff in participating in the walks. It’s networking, learning, and walking all in one!

As a walker, no pre-registration is needed. You’ll complete a waiver at your first walk. After that, all you have to do is sign in. Participation incentives are coming soon!
