In addition to awarding a total of $50,000 in grants to 25 local
nonprofit organizations at their 25th Anniversary Celebration in September,
Legacy announced a GIVE
25 Campaign
to “Keep 5 At Home.” As estates pass from one generation to the
next, the transfer of wealth in Kansas is estimated to be $1.9 trillion by
2030. Many people allocate their entire estate to their children. If those
children have left Kansas, or Cowley County, the inherited wealth leaves too.
Establishing a fund with Legacy provides permanent support to
organizations and projects right here at home. At the time of the gift, donors
designate how the money is to be spent and what interest, cause or organization
it should benefit. Legacy accepts a wide variety of assets and can facilitate
complex forms of giving while offering maximum tax advantages making giving
possible for everyone. Charitable work in Cowley County could benefit
with up to $85 million by 2030 if we “Keep
5 At Home.”
