Power of the Purse
grant application announced

The 2021 grant application for the Power of the Purse (POP) funding has been
released. The
Power of the Purse – a women’s giving circle established with Legacy Regional
Community Foundation – is currently accepting grant applications from area
nonprofit organizations that align with their mission “to better the lives of
women and children in Cowley County.” Eligible applicant organizations include 501c3 organizations,
quasi-governmental entities, and service clubs willing to team up with a

Power of the Purse aims to make a
difference in the lives of women and children in the community by encouraging
community within the circle and with those they serve, educating and increasing
awareness of local need, as well as building a network to catalyze positive
change
Power of the Purse
(POP) has given $248,775 in grants and scholarships since the giving
circle was established in 2007. POP
operates by combining membership contributions to form a fund from which grants
are awarded. In 2020, organizations receiving grant funding
included Angels in the Attic, Ark City Public Library, Community Health Center,
Cowley Cares Coalition, Eagle Nest, Inc., Elevate Cowley County, Soroptimist
International of Arkansas City, and Wichita Family Crisis Center (Cowley
County) of Winfield.
