Through their Give Items of Value (GIV) program, United Way of the Plains recently donated 2,082 toys to the Winfield Community Food Pantry. The program also delivered 9,290 to Ark City’s Angels in the Attic, Inc. The 11,372 donated toys are intended to help children to “combat boredom, relieve anxiety, and even contribute to their educational development” during the pandemic. United Way received the toys through a partnership with the national Good360 and Toys for Tots. The Winfield Community Food Pantry and Angels in the Attic are giving out the toys as part of their normal distribution of food and other items they provide for people in need.
“We’re glad to help these agencies spread joy to the families in their communities!” said Pete Nájera, president and CEO of United Way of the Plains.
