The WTS is attempting to recover from their arson fire loss last March 3, 2024. The exterior of the new building is basically complete.  Local contractors and volunteers are in process of completing the interior.  There is currently no completion date, but hopefully soon.  

Many citizens and businesses are anxious to assist. We lost approximately 150 plastic totes in the fire.  The totes were used for storage of off season donations and excess current season donations. Some individuals are starting to bring donations and we appreciate that.  Our initial need is totes, approximately 100.  We contacted Newell Rubbermaid and they donated 6 of a very nice usable size, Brute 9S31-00.  A standardized size will allow for best utilization our space.  We currently can’t replace our previous storage building, lost in the same fire, which provided an additional 400 square feet of storage.  Totes may be purchased from the Newell Rubbermaid company store located west end of Newell Rubbermaid building off 12th street.  Their company store is open each Wednesday noon to 7pm.

We are looking forward to again serving the people of Winfield, especially those that are of lower income.  Watch for future notices of being ready to accept all donations, not just totes.
