Watercolor Painting
is new craft in WPL’s Crab & Go Craft Series
Channel your inner artist with the
February Grab & Go Craft Kit from Winfield Public Library. In this month’s kit, you’ll find watercolor
paints, brushes, paper, and ideas to explore a variety of styles and textures
through this versatile medium.
“Winfield Arts and Humanities was
an enormous help in putting together this craft project,” said Ruth Bumgarner,
WPL’s Adult Services Librarian. “They
provided some wonderful, basic tips and ideas for people experimenting with
water colors for the first time.”
Bumgarner says the inspiration to
do a watercolor craft came from another collaboration with WA&H. During the month of February, a portion of
Arts & Humanities’ watercolor collection will be on display at both Baden
Square and the Winfield Public Library. “With watercolor artwork on display, I really wanted to give our patrons
an opportunity to try it themselves – either in the form of a valentine or
something unique to them.”
The watercolor Grab & Go Craft
Kits are available for adult patrons on a first-come, first-served basis while
supplies last, beginning Monday, February 7.
Grab & Go Craft Kits are made
possible thanks to the Friends of the Winfield Public Library. This group supports library activities such
as the Summer Reading Program and the Discovery exhibits. For those who believe in literacy programs,
love the library and wish to support strong community, membership in The
Friends is a great way to show support.
