Cowley County Barn Quilt Trail
The barn quilt movement is gaining momentum throughout Cowley County and the Kansas Flint Hills. The Kansas Flint Hills Quilt trail, begun only a few years ago, now boasts over 165 quilts throughout the 22 county region. Locally, the Cowley County Barn Quilt trail expanded from one barn quilt at the beginning of 2014 to now over 30 large barn quilts, and numerous 2x2 quilt blocks up around the county. The Cowley County Tourism Alliance has been working to expand the barn quilt trail throughout the county, that is a part of the larger Flint Hills Quilt Trail. The alliance has been holding a series of Barn Quilt classes to raise awareness of this movement in the area. For information on upcoming classes, contact the Winfield Convention and Tourism office at 620-221-2421. CCTA is currently looking for barn owners interested in having a large quilt block (4x4, 6x6, or 8x8) on their barn. If you are interested in the quilt block movement, please contact the Cowley First office at 620-221-9951. A complete list of the Cowley County Barn quilt trail can be found on the Visit Cowley County website

Flint Hills Hunts
Dan and Daniel Torrence would like to welcome you to the hunter’s paradise called Kansas!

We specialize in providing guided deer and upland game hunts tailored to your group’s desires. We also offer non-guided deer hunts for those who prefer to hunt on their own.

Flint Hills Hunts operates in a five county area, which runs along the Flint Hills region of central Kansas. In the fall of the year, this transition zone provides fantastic trophy white-tailed deer hunting for bow and rifle enthusiasts.

If upland game hunting is your main desire, Flint Hills Hunts can offer you a choice of wild quail or greater prairie chicken hunting. You can bring your own dogs or hunt behind my seasoned veterans.

In the spring, huge flocks of Eastern and Rio Grande turkey roam these hills and valleys, making this a turkey hunter’s paradise. Trophy hunters can fill half of their grand slam requirement or novices can learn the fine art of turkey calling with the help of an experienced guide.

Guided kayak or hiking trips. Equipment rental available. Can accommodate groups of up to 25. Guided trips expose the explorer to the beauty of south-central and south-east Kansas.

Quail Ridge is a handsome course worthy of honors, and annually receives a four-star rating in Golf Digest’s “Places to Golf”.

The Rink is a family fun center in Winfield, KS. It offers kids and adults of all ages activities such as roller skating, nerf wars, and bubble soccer.

Visitors from across the globe come to Cowley County to visit the historic bridges including the stone arch bridges.

Winfield Country Club has evolved into a classic 18 hole Country Club with a swimming pool, driving/practice range, practice putting green, and racquet ball court. Surrounded by three separate housing developments WCC is accessible by private golf carts from the homes surrounding the golf course, plus rental carts are available at the club house. The course was charted by Sky Caddie in 2007 and yardages are well marked on the course.
