Winfield Public Library Celebrates National Poetry Month with a
Storywalk and Dial-a-Poem

is National Poetry Month! Starting Friday, April 1, Winfield Public Library
offers two ways to celebrate.
Enjoy yourself as you discover
where our new sidewalk ends. Take a stroll down the new sidewalk connecting the
library's back patio to 6th Street, and delight in a storywalk along the way.
Featuring poems from Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends, the
temporary storywalk is available for the first full week in April which is also
National Library Week. Thank you to the
City of Winfield for their sidewalk-creating magic. The new sidewalk offers
safe and easy access to spring and summer library programs held on the back
patio.
Patrons
can enjoy a poem by dialing 620-221-4477 and listen to a new poem every Friday
during the month of April. The first featured poem is from the book A Song of Seasons and ties into the
library’s traveling exhibit Climate and
Energy Science currently available for viewing. Poems will be chosen from
the library’s collection of poetry books and will be appropriate for all ages.
