Public Library Hosts Book Discussion with Author Mystery Edwin Hill
Mystery author Edwin Hill is once again
joining Winfield Public Library for a book discussion! Hill’s book Watch Her, his third and latest book in
the Hester Thursby series, revolves around librarian Hester Thursby and is the
focus of the upcoming discussion. Using the library’s newly-installed
technology, patrons can choose to join the conversation either in-person or via
Zoom. This is the first program at WPL
using this grant-funded technology. Hill, who will be zooming in from his home
on the east coast, will discuss Watch Her
as well as answer questions about his new soon-to-be-released book The Secrets We Keep. Register for this

registrants wishing to Zoom in will need to provide an email address. No need to have read the first two Thursby
books to enjoy this program; Watch Her
is currently available at WPL for check out.
Edwin Hill’s critically-acclaimed crime novels include the standalone
thriller The Secrets We Share (set for release in March 2022) and three
novels featuring Hester Thursby: Watch Her, The Missing Ones, and
Little Comfort. He has been nominated for Edgar and Agatha Awards, featured
in Us Magazine, received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly, Booklist, and
Library Journal, and was recognized as one of “Six Crime Writers to Watch” in
Mystery Scene magazine. He lives in Roslindale, Massachusetts with his partner
Michael and his favorite reviewer, their lab Edith Ann, who likes his first
drafts enough to eat them. Patrons can
check-out any of Hill’s books in the Thursby series from Winfield Public
Library; WPL will carry The Secrets We Share upon its release.
“Not only are we thrilled to discuss Edwin’s latest book with him - he
is a favorite author of ours - but we’re excited to host our first hybrid
in-person/Zoom program, offering our patrons options for participation,” states
Patty Wagner, library director. Technology for this and other upcoming hybrid
programs is funded through an American Rescue Plan Act grant and will
eventually be available for use at the library by community groups. “The technology
is not quite ready to be made available to Winfield organizations just yet,”
states Wagner, “but we are working hard to make that happen – and are excited
about the possibilities.”
