SC VP for Advancement Accepts Position in North Carolina

Winfield, Kan., March 25, 2022 — Southwestern College has announced that after three years of service as vice president for institutional advancement, Patrick Wagner will be moving on to assume leadership of the fundraising efforts at Brevard College in North Carolina.

“Southwestern is an incredibly special college and we are grateful to have been able to make Winfield home,” said Wagner. “While we are sad to leave, this is a good opportunity for me and the move will take my wife and me closer to our family.”

As a member of the Administrative Council, Wagner was responsible for coordinating fundraising and alumni relations programs at the college. During his tenure, the college saw a significant increase in annual giving participation and will celebrate the completion of a successful $12 million capital campaign in April as part of Founders Weekend festivities April 22-23.

Wagner will continue his work at Southwestern through the end of April.

“It has been a privilege to get to know the incredibly caring and talented community of individuals who surround Southwestern. I’m grateful to an alumni community and colleagues who embraced me and I’m proud of what we have accomplished together. I know there are many great things to come for SC and the Builder family,” said Wagner.

Wagner's wife, Patty, is the director of the Winfield Public Library. She will continue her work helping with the leadership transition and summer programming before moving to North Carolina in the late summer.

“Pat has served Southwestern well,” said Tony Crouch, interim college president. “We’re sad to see him and Patty go, but certainly understand the pull to be near their family. Pat has been a great representative of our college, we wish the Wagners all the best in their next endeavor.”

“The continued support of our alumni and of the community is a blessing that gives our college immense strength,” said Crouch. “Southwestern is well-positioned to attract an individual who will pick up the torch to carry our work forward by building meaningful relationships, securing financial support for the advancement of our mission, facilitating events and opportunities for our alumni, and continuing to honor the traditions of Southwestern College.”
