Moundbuilder Check-In Begins
August 3 and 4

July. 22, 2021 — Moundbuilder Check-In begins on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 3
and 4, as incoming first-year students will move into the residence halls at
Southwestern College. As students return, Builder Camp and Builder Fest will
kick off the 2021-2022 school year.
Southwestern
will begin the academic year with an aggressive health plan in place. The
college will offer exciting incentives to students who are vaccinated for
COVID-19 at check-in and additionally will offer vaccination clinics on-campus
frequently. Like last year, the college will also make ongoing COVID-19 testing
available to the campus community, conducting contact tracing as needed. The
college remains focused on promoting mutual respect and encourages personal
judgment as individuals make decisions regarding their health and well-being.
New undergraduate students will be the first on campus.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., followed by students moving into residence
halls. To help maintain social distancing of families, each student has
been assigned a designated move-in day and time. Students have been sent an
email with their individual check-in times and details.
With some
modifications in place, first-year students will once again travel off-campus
for Builder Camp a three-day orientation to college life. Builder Camp will be held at Sky Ranch Cave Springs in
Quapaw, Okla. Students will depart campus at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug.
4, and return on Saturday, Aug. 7.
Builder Fest is a schedule of
community-based experiences introducing new students to the many aspects of
Southwestern College. The first event of Builder Fest is Sunday, Aug. 8, the freshmen will participate in the annual
Freshman Workday event sponsored by the Southwestern College Leadership
program.
Fall
student-athletes (including transfers) will move in Saturday, Aug. 7. All
other transfer and returning students will move in Friday, Aug. 13.

Tuesday, Aug. 17, Rock painting party from 6 to 8 p.m. on the
Wallingford lawn.

Thursday, Aug. 19, annual Moundbuilding Ceremony at 7 p.m., at Cole
Mound Plaza at the bottom of the 77 Steps.

Friday, Aug. 20, Opening Convocation at 11 a.m. in Richardson Performing
Arts Center.

Southwestern College are invited to attend the Moundbuilding Ceremony and
Opening Convocation.
