“The characters in the musical are very similar to those in the movie
‘Matilda,’ but has some additional adult character roles and a lively youth and
teen ensemble” Moon says.
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s book, “Matilda,” the award-winning Roald Dahl’s
“Matilda the Musical” reveals the anarchy of childhood, the power of
imagination, and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life.
Dennis Kelly’s book and Tim Minkin’s original songs bring Roald Dahl’s “Matilda
the Musical” to life.
According to a description from Music Theatre International, this
production is packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs, and
Matilda’s unforgettable adventures that the whole family will be thrilled and
delighted by. Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence, and
psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents and her school’s mean
headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, but embraced by her schoolteacher, the highly
loveable Miss Honey.
The production of “Matilda the Musical” will run July 9-11. For
