Sigma Tau Delta Looking for
Creative Works from SC Community
Winfield, Kan., April 8, 2021 — Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor
Society at Southwestern College, has created a literary journal and is looking
for submissions from current and past Moundbuilders.
The literary journal, “Tesserae: a Mosaic of Voices,” is a way for the
Southwestern College community to come together and share creative works.
Sigma Tau Delta is calling on all writers, poets, and artists who are
connected to the Southwestern as they collect individual works as tiny
“tesserae” and create a collective mosaic of voices.
Lex Gouyton, Sigma Tau Delta President, is looking for submissions from
current SC students, SC alumni, as well as current and former faculty and staff
of the college.
“We are calling on all current and past members of the Southwestern
College community to share their work in the following categories: poetry,
short stories and drama (3,000 word limit), literary nonfiction, visual art,
and digital graphics,” Gouyton says. “Share your works and art with the
team of editors here at Sigma Tau Delta to be featured in the first issue of
‘Tesserae: a Mosaic of Voices.’”
The submission deadline is April 23. To submit an entry or contact the
editors with any questions, email SigmaTauDelta@sckans.edu.
