The Winfield Rotary Club invites you to
join with us, and your friends and neighbors in displaying the American Flag on
the five (5) major holidays of the year, Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day,
Independence Day and Labor Day.
The Rotary “Avenue of Flags”
give Winfield residents an opportunity to show their pride and love for our
country. It gives our community a great patriotic spirit, and at the same time,
the proceeds will help so many people in our city.
This is a service project of
the Winfield Rotary Club. Rotarians are dedicated business people who provide
humanitarian service to people throughout the world. The proceeds will be used
to support Rotary service projects including: Youth Leadership Camps,
Scholarships, community outreach programs, etc.
We will place a PVC Plastic
sleeve in the ground at your front curb. On the five (5) holidays a 3’x5’ US
flag mounted on a 10’ metal pole, is placed in the sleeve. There are no
brackets or fixtures attached to your home or business. The flag goes up at
dawn and is taken down about sunset. The flags will remain the property of the
Winfield Rotary Club, which we store and display for you.
Yes,
we want to participate in the flag lease program of the Winfield Rotary Club. It
is my responsibility to advise Rotary on the placement location for the plastic
sleeve to avoid sprinkler, plumbing, and electrical service hazards; and to
ensure that the plastic sleeve does not rise above the surface where it may
become a hazard to lawn equipment.
