Southwestern College Commencement and Graduate Hooding Ceremony Postponed

Winfield, Kan., April 9, 2020 - Southwestern College President Brad Andrews has announced that due to Covid-19, the college’s Sunday, May 10, Commencement and Graduate Hooding exercises will be postponed.
In an email sent to students, faculty, and staff, Andrews shared, “Seniors will become official college graduates at the conclusion of this academic term as they successfully complete their final credits. However, while they will complete their degree and attain status as a college graduate without any delay, the ceremony celebrating their accomplishment will need to be rescheduled.”
Andrews invited graduating seniors and graduate students to complete an online survey regarding the college’s plans for commencement. Their feedback will be reviewed before a decision is made and an announcement made concerning how and when the commencement exercises for the Southwestern College class of 2020 will be held.
