The Cowley County Farmers Market Association
VISTA Summer Associate member will build the capacity of the ArkCity Farm and
Art Market and the Walnut Valley Farmers Market by partnering with local
producers and consumers in Cowley County, Kansas to expand access to healthy
foods. This VISTA position will impact poverty by engaging SNAP and SNAP
qualified audiences to increase fruit and vegetable consumption. As a result of
the VISTA member’s service, 80% of distributed Double Up Food Bucks will be
redeemed, SNAP customers at farmers markets will increase 25% from 2021 and
systems will be created for education, outreach, and marketing.
