Walnut Valley Festival Announces Reduced Ticket Prices for Youth
in 2024
Winfield,
Kansas ? Organizers of the 52nd Walnut Valley Festival have
great news for fans of the annual September event. Ticket prices for adults
will not increase, and families bringing older children can expect to pay
significantly less compared to 2023.
The festival
has traditionally offered two discounted tiers for youth tickets. Children up
to 5 years old were free, and tickets for children ages 6-11 cost $10. Parents
paid full price for teens starting at age 12. Plans for next year’s festival
call for the second discounted ticket category to cover ages 6-10, and to
remain at $10. But now an additional tier of tickets for young adults from
11-15 years old has been added, priced at $50 for a weekend ticket, less than
half the price of a comparable adult ticket. As in the past, all three tiers of
kids’ tickets will be available for purchase only at the gate.
WVF Executive
Director Bart Redford — “We have always touted ourselves as a family-friendly
music festival. There are several programs we provide that are targeted to kids
and young adults, including kids craft activities tied to our Arts and Crafts
Fair, a Feisty Music Camp for Kids (up to 6th grade), and Andy
May’s Acoustic Kids (all ages). For more info on our youth programs, visit
wvfest.com.”
“Discounting
tickets for young adults will make it more affordable for families to attend,
and is just one more way to ensure that the Walnut Valley Festival remains a
truly kid-friendly experience. We also wanted to get word out that this is
coming, because we know that many people take advantage of the Early-Bird
savings on tickets. Those go on sale December 1.”
