MONTHLY BLUEGRASS JAM SESSIONS TO BE HELD AT BOB’S PLACE IN WINFIELD

Beginning in January 2023, bluegrass fans looking for a jam can find one in Winfield twice each month. Local pickers Arthur Blackburn and Jeff Morrison will host the twice-monthly Winfield Bluegrass Jam Sessions every 2nd Thursday evening at 7pm (Beginning / Intermediate) and every 4th Saturday afternoon at 1pm (Advanced). The sessions will be held at Bob’s Place, 920 Main St. in Winfield, and parking is available on Main Street or behind the building.

The January sessions will take place on January 12 and January 28. The jams enjoy the support of the Walnut Valley Association and the Kansas Bluegrass Association.

Arthur Blackburn:
“Given that Winfield is home to the Walnut Valley Festival, we wanted to organize sessions that would provide a little bit of that same atmosphere on a monthly basis. Having them at Bob’s Place seemed like a natural fit.”

“We welcome anyone to come and join us, whether you are a novice, a seasoned jammer, or if you just want to come and listen. Acoustic stringed instruments only, please. Ample seating, coffee, water and snacks will be provided.”
