TED Talk Lunch Series at WPL

Discover the untapped superpower that can slow down the aging process, improve memory retention, strengthen your immune system, and maybe even decrease your risk of dementia and cancer at Winfield Public Library’s August TED Talk Lunch Series. This free event will be held on Thursday, August 11 at 12:00pm. Coffee and dessert will be provided, and community members are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Registration is now open through the events calendar at wpl.org or by calling 620-221-4470.

August’s talk is titled “Sleep is your superpower” by Matt Walker, professor of neuroscience and psychology at the University of California, Berkeley. Walker is the director of The Center for Human Sleep Science, author of the international bestseller Why We Sleep, and host of a TED original series Sleeping with Science

TED Talks are short, carefully prepared, idea-focused talks that foster learning, inspiration, and wonder. WPL’s TED Talk Lunch Series is free and open to all curious community members. Held on the second Thursday of the month, the series will continue through the remainder of the year.
