Cole Batten Named January Student of the Month

Cowley College announces Cole Batten as the January Student of the Month. A Graphic Design major from Oxford, Kansas, Batten has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement, making them a deserving recipient.

With a 4.0 GPA, Batten excels in their coursework while actively contributing to the Cowley community. They serve as a tutor in the Tiger Learning Center and take on the role of campus videographer and social media ambassador. Beyond their academic commitments, Batten is an engaged member of several student organizations, including Art Club, Quiz Bowl, and Voices Heard.

Batten’s dedication extends beyond campus, as they consistently participate in community service. From volunteering at local events through Art Club to organizing trivia competitions with Quiz Bowl, they take every opportunity to give back. Additionally, Batten and their family serve a free Thanksgiving meal at Bethel Life Center to support those in need.

Their journey at Cowley College began while they were still in high school, taking advantage of early college opportunities. After graduating, they continued their education at Cowley, developing their artistic skills and building strong connections within the art department. After graduation, Batten plans to transfer to the University of Kansas to study graphic design and art further.

Upon receiving the Student of the Month recognition, Batten expressed gratitude and excitement, saying, “I'm so grateful and proud of myself for getting this achievement! I was surprised to be selected among many other amazing students.”

Cowley College congratulates Cole Batten on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.
