05/10/2019 02:38 PM
The Southwestern College men’s basketball program has announced its 2019 summer camp dates. This year’s camp will feature a day camp option May 28-31, and a high school boys elite camp option May 21-23. Both camps will be held in Stewart Field House on the Southwestern College campus in Winfield.
Matt O'Brien, head men's basketball coach at Southwestern College, will lead the camp's staff, along with his assistant coach, Tim Miser, and former all-American and current professional basketball player Cameron Clark. The Moundbuilder coaching staff will be joined by members of the SC men's basketball team.
The day camps are designed for basketball players of all abilities. The program is intended to develop each athlete’s ability through drills and competition. The camps will consist of a combination of games and instruction. Coach O’Brien will focus on developing a player’s entire game to include skill development for every position. Instruction is focused on increasing the understanding of how to play the game so players can maximize their ability.
Day camp for first through fifth graders will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; for sixth through eighth graders, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The high school boys elite camp is for players who want to be challenged. The camp staff will drill campers on the fundamentals of basketball, as well as team play. Elite camp will take place from 7 to 9 p.m.
Cost for the camp experience is $75, and includes a t-shirt. For more information or to sign up for the camp, contact Matt O'Brien at (316) 650-0076 or email email@example.com . A registration form is also available online at www.buildersports.com/basketballcamp . Registration will also be accepted on the first day of camp.
