Wellness & Wine Festival

Wellness & Wine Festival

The Wellness and Wine Festival at the scenic Wheat State Wine Co. was created to highlight area fitness pros and provide a showcase for local opportunities to help YOU jumpstart your fitness journey! Thought of trying a fitness class, but not sure which is right for you? We have a little something for everyone with five mini-classes planned: STRONG Nation (Sarah Johnson), CrossFit (Tara Sutton), Zumba (Sarah Johnson), Fit Over 50 (Aritha Paris), and Yoga (Nicole Thayer). Personal trainer and nutrition expert, Jennifer Howard of Strong Fitness, will get us warmed up and lead a discussion on nutrition.

Plus, each ticket purchase includes an event t-shirt and a complimentary glass of wine. Local wellness and beauty vendors will be onsite. Classic and healthy options from Three Critters BBQ food truck will be available for purchase around lunchtime to give you the fuel you need.
Water and Gatorade will be provided. If you have a mat, bring it! If you don’t, a small number of sanitized mats will be available.

We are ready to kick off the start of summer with this fun IN-PERSON event! Our vision is to inspire others to take charge of their health through movement, mindfulness, nourishment, and connection.

Register NOW to reserve your spot and snag a low price. Bring a friend to save $5 by using PROMO CODE, promo code DUODISCOUNT, at checkout. Tickets go up to $55 each when you register on the day of the event.

Duck Jam in the Park Concert Series: Micky and the Motorcars

Duck Jam in the Park Concert Series: Micky and the Motorcars
Opening act - American idol contestant and Wellington native - MaKayla Brownlee
Headline Performance - Micky and the Motorcars
"For the Motorcars, the question is never really whether to tour but where to play next. Gary––who handles guitar, mandolin, harmonica, harmonies, and occasionally lead vocals––and Micky, lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, are joined in the Motorcars by Joe Fladger on bass, Bobby Paugh on drums and percussion, and new bandmate Pablo Trujillo on guitar. The combination of familiar and fresh players has reinvigorated the Motorcars’ live show, which buzzes through a low-key rock-and-roll rapture built on grooves and the Brauns’ signature harmonies."
Gate opens at 6:00 PM.
MaKayla Brownlee begins at 7:00 PM.
Micky and The Motorcars go on at 8:00 PM.
These concerts are FREE and open to the public thanks to many awesome sponsors and donations. Look for the Duck Jam buckets and drop a few dollars in to help keep these going!
Bring your own lawn chairs, picnic blankets, food, and drinks (alcohol is allowed, but open containers must stay within the perimeter of the stage). The Winfield Lions Club and Soroptimists of Winfield will be selling food under the Soroptimist Pavilion just south of the stage.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friends of the Winfield Public Library Host Back Patio Book Sales

The Friends of the Winfield Public Library's Books Sales are back!  Instead of one large book sale this summer, the Friends of WPL will host several smaller book sales on the library's back patio with the first coming Saturday, May 29th from 10am until 2pm.   Our book carts will be filled with cookbooks, gardening, history-related books, dvds, paperback fiction and more. Most books are priced from $.25 to $1 - cash, check, or credit card.  The sale will take place on the Winfield Public Library's back patio. Masks are required.

All proceeds go to support the efforts of the Friends of the Winfield Public Library to sponsor library activities such as the Summer Reading Program, board game check-out, and national and regional traveling exhibits.  For those who believe in literacy programs, love the library and wish to support strong community, membership in The Friends is a great way to show support.

For information on this or any of WPL's other programs, visit wpl.org or call 620-221-4470.  The Winfield Public Library is located at 605 College Street, and is currently open with limited services.  Call for details.
